The trim size of Moist magazine is 8 1/8” x 10 1/2”. The bleed area is 8 1/4” x 10 3/4”. Nonbleed ads should not exceed 7” x 9 3/4”.
The preferred way to receive advertising material is digital media: MAC formatted 100 MB or 250 MB Zip, 1.2 GB or 2 GB Jazz, CD-ROM, or though an automated server-to-server file transfer, such as FTP or WAM!NET.
Color calibration for ads should adhere to SWOP standards, and color breaks should accompany all files. All images/scans should be in RGB mode because good ICC profiles provide more accurate shadow colors and better color matching than CMYK conversions.
The offset screen ruling for four-color materials is a line screen of 133 to 150 d.p.i. For two-color and black & white material, a line screen of 133 d.p.i. should be used. The total ink density should not exceed 300 percent.
All efforts will be made to keep up-to-date on prepress technology. But until soft proofing is a reality, SWOP Proofs should be generated at 100 percent from digital files.
